Air Kichel

1 ½ lbs bread flour

2 ½ oz sugar

13 eggs

9 oz vegetable oil

¼ oz salt

¼ oz rum

 Vegetable Oil for brushing

Sugar

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Mix all ingredients on medium high speed with a paddle for 10 minutes.  Should have a rubbery consistency.

  2. Place on a floured pan and cover dough with flour.  Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

  3. Roll dough to approximately 5/8” thick.  Brush off all flour and brush with oil and sprinkle with sugar.

  4. Cut dough in ¼” by 3”.

  5. Twist dough like a bow tie.

  6. Sprinkle with granulated sugar to cover top (optional)

  7. Bake at 350 degrees until crispy (approximately 25 minutes).
